Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Scholarships

The Public Service Department (JPA) has made known that twelve (12) Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Scholarships are being made available to students at the master and doctorate's levels where the potential student must have secured a placee in a local or renowned overseas universities.

This scholarship is intended for students majoring in Science & Technology, Economics and Law  and they should possess gifts for foreign languages and active in social works.

Upon graduation, the recipient would be bonded to serve a minimum of five years in Malaysia.

Applications are open from July 11 to 18. It can be submitted through www.jpa.gov.my or http://esila.jpa.gov.my/.

Bayer Young Environmental Envoy

Bayer has a well-established tradition of environmental protection, which began more than 100 years ago when it set up its Wastewater Commission at its production plants at Leverkusen, Germany, in 1901. Since then Bayer has consistently stuck to the principle of more environmental protection, health protection, safety and Sustainable Development.

As a research-based enterprise, Bayer also places great emphasis on promoting science education for young people and has therefore been committed to promoting youth environmental programs for many years. In cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Bayer Group organizes and promotes a number of specific projects which aim to improve knowledge about the environment among young people and support them in their environmental commitment. One of these projects is the "Bayer Young Environmental Envoy Program".

Under this program, selected students / envoys from 18 countries will get to go to Germany on a weeklong study tour to experience how environmental protection is practiced by people, government and industry in one of the leading countries with regards to technology and environmental awareness.

The visit to the global headquarters of the Bayer Group in Germany demonstrates how companies - through product development and responsible manufacturing processes - contribute to sustainable development..............

This is open to people of 18-24 years old and who are studying in an institute of higher education in Peninsular Malaysia and are passionate about environment protection... I know I know ... all of you are too old for this ... but but ... I wish you can send to your younger brother and sisters.. friends.. junior..

The next field trip to Germany will take place 8-13 November 2009. You may ask "How do I apply now?" Well, you only have one more day to do so.

Khazanah Nasional Berhad Scholarships

Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the Malaysian government's investment holding arm and the strategic investor in new industries and markets has a scholarship foundation for those qualified candidates

Undergraduate Studies
Open to eligible candidates who have obtained admission to pursue undergraduate study at premier universities in the United Kingdom or the United States.

Students who are currently pursuing undergraduate studies in their first or second year in premier universities in the United Kingdom or the United States are also invited to apply. (Application Form)

Who can apply?
-Malaysian citizens
-Applicants must have consistent and outstanding academic records in the one of the following:-
-A-levels: obtained a minimum of 3As and 1B
-Foundation Studies: minimum 3.75 CGPA
-Bachelor’s Degree: minimum 3.5 CGPA
-Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular activities
-Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English

Postgraduate Studies
I. Masters Degree
Open to eligible candidates who have obtained admission to pursue graduate studies at a premier universities in the United Kingdom or the United States. (Application Form)

Who can apply?
-Malaysian citizens
-Not exceeding 35 years of age as at 1 July 2007
-Bachelors Degree with a minimum of second class upper (Hons) or equivalent from Malaysian or foreign universities
-Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular, social or voluntary activities
-Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English

II. Phd
Open to eligible candidates who have obtained admission to pursue doctoral studies at premier universities in the United Kingdom or the United States. Students who are currently pursuing doctoral studies in their first or second year at premier universities in the United Kingdom or the United States are also invited to apply. (Application Form)

Who can apply?
-Malaysian citizens
-Not exceeding 40 years of age as at 1 July 2007
-Obtained a distinction or ‘A’ grade average or equivalent at the Masters level
-Strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular, social or voluntary activities
-Passed SPM with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English

Great Eastern Life Assurance Scholarships




Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Berhad ("Great Eastern") do offer three types of scholarships which catered for overseas, regional and local public/private universities.

Great Eastern's Supremacy Scholarship Award (Overseas), which is being awarded biennially, is opened to all Malaysians who are attending or have obtained confirmed or conditional admission into top-notched universities overseas pursuing their first degree in either Actuarial Science or Information Technology.

Upon graduation, you will be required to enter into a 7-year bond with Great Eastern. The scholarship is worth RM70,000 per academic year for the course duration.

Another one of Great Eastern's unique scholarship is the Supremacy Regional Scholarship Award, caters only for Malaysian students who are have obtained or in the process of gaining admission for first degree courses at 13 specific China universities as follows:-
1. University of Beijing
2. University of Tsinghua
3. University of Nanjing
4. University of Fudan
5. University of Shanghai Transportation
6. University of Xi'an Transportation
7. Renmin University of China
8. Shanghai University of Finance & Economics
9. Xiamen University
10. Wuhan University
11. Jinan University
12. University of Zhejiang
13. University of Xi Jiang

Courses of Study:-
1. Accounting
2. Business Administration
3. Actuarial Science
4. International Trade
5. Finance
6. Economics

Upon graduation, you will be required to enter into a 5-year bond with Great Eastern. The scholarship is worth RM35,000 per annum for the course duration.

The third scholarship that Great Eastern offers is the Supremacy Local Scholarship Award is also unique. It only caters for Great Eastern's insurance policyholders or immediate children of the insurance policyholders (in force for more than three years).

5. Law
6. Mathematics
7. Economics

Upon graduation, you will be required to enter into a 3-year bond with Great Eastern. The scholarship is worth RM13,700 (public universities) or RM16,700 (private universities) per academic year (which is for academic fees, compulsory campus fees or sum as determined by the university, and living expenses) for the course duration.

SC Scholarship Award

SC Scholarship Award - career prospects and challenging opportunities await SC Scholars upon successful completion of their studies, those which can only arise from becoming part of a progressive regulatory agency engaged in the Malaysian capital market, offering positions with genuine responsibility, exceptional exposure and development opportunities, and the chance to learn from the finest – a paradigm for those with true enthusiasm for a vocation in regulatory and financial services.

Our Requirements:-
Academic Achievement: For pre-university scholarships, a minimum of 8As in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent “O” level based on trial or actual results for 2005. Applicants who wish to pursue tertiary scholarships, a minimum of 4As and 1B in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM), or 2As and 1B for A-Level students.

Extra-curriculum Activities: Active in co-curricular activities in school or within the community. Visible interpersonal ability as well as the leadership skills. Possess dynamic and independent personality.

Age: Applicants must be 19 years of age or below.

Field of Studies: law, economics, finance, business administration, international securities, investment, accounting, Islamic securities, and banking.

Scholarship Value: SC Scholarship covers full academic fees, books, maintenance/subsistence allowances and other miscellaneous allowances.

Provisional offers will be made to successful candidates subject to gaining acceptance into a recognised top institution/university and with an agreement to serve the SC for a stipulated period thereafter.

You must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 to receive a scholarship. If you fail to maintain a minimum semester GPA of 3.5 for two consecutive semesters for all courses taken, your scholarship award will be withdrawn. Any subsequent deficiency will result in the scholarship being withdrawn.

Maxis Scholarship for Excellence

The Maxis Scholarship For Excellence Award is an effort to nurture a forward-thinking and progressive new generation of Malaysians. It is open to young and outstanding Malaysians who have gained admittance to top universities in the US and UK. Successful applicants will be awarded the opportunity of a postgraduate scholarship to pursue their academic goals at the world’s most prestigious universities.

Selection of Programmes
Founded and fully-funded by Maxis as part of its extensive Corporate Social Responsibility campaign, the Maxis Scholarship For Excellence Award is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for outstanding young individuals to fulfill their dreams and aspirations of creating a better society, a richer culture and a greater nation. Five successful applicants will be awarded a postgraduate scholarship at the world's most prestigious universities to pursue a course in:

Application Criteria
Ideal applicants for Maxis’ Scholarship For Excellence must have already gained admittance to a top US or UK university and meet the following stringent criteria:-
- Aged 30 years or below
- Achieved a minimum of a 2nd Class Upper Honours (or equivalent) degree from a good university.
- Have a minimum of three years working experience
- Have a strong appreciation and appetite for current affairs (for example, a general knowledge of Malaysia’s constitutional and legal framework, economic levers, government initiatives and nation building philosophies).
- Demonstrate a continuing involvement in extra-curricular activities (team or individual sports; voluntary service; affiliation with a recognized association or society) as well as special achievements in academics, social work or similar contributions.
- Possess the traits of an ambassador for Malaysia, with a sense of loyalty and identification for the country. There should also be evidence of a clear sense of purpose and goals in life, as well as a display of visionary capabilities.

In short, an individual who is not only high-achieving, but boasts a well-rounded, potent blend of academic, personal, social, extra-curricular and experiential abilities and skills.
